What this is
The PME Case Study Developer was a concept experiment, a Gemini-powered tool for AI-assisted generation of structured PME case study scaffolding. I built it to test whether the workflow was worth investing in, not as a finished product.
The workflow it was exploring
Building a PME case study from scratch follows a predictable set of steps. You define the learning objectives, find a scenario with the right complexity and ambiguity, structure the decision points, frame the historical or hypothetical context, and write a narrative that supports the learning goals without giving away the answer.
AI can move faster than a faculty member on the early structural steps, generating a scaffolded outline, proposing decision-point variants, and drafting scenario framing. The experiment was testing one question. Is the AI draft a close enough starting point that it saves time, or is it wrong in ways that make it slower to fix than to write fresh?
Status
A concept-stage experiment, never used in a classroom. The workflow has merit but would need a more robust production build before it would be ready for faculty use.
